The live interview copilot explained
How a live AI interview
copilot works
An AI interview copilot follows a consented live conversation and turns the current question, recent transcript, your CV and the job description into timely guidance. Elocira helps you recall relevant evidence and shape an answer, while you decide what is true, useful and appropriate to say.
This real product example shows a live question becoming concise answer guidance. Watch the complete interview journey.
In this guide
Understand the inputs, the guidance and your controls
Follow the complete loop: prepare candidate and role context → capture the question → generate a suggestion → answer in your own words → review the conversation. You will also learn where live assistance fits alongside preparation tools and post-interview coaching.
Use Elocira Desktop on Windows or Linux, or a compatible browser capture setup. A phone can show the responsive live console while supported audio capture runs on your computer; viewing the console on mobile is not the same as capturing interview audio there.
From context to coaching
From interview question to personalized guidance
Prepare your experience and the role
Create and name an interview. Optionally upload a PDF or DOCX CV, then add the job description from a URL or file. These sources play different roles: your CV provides evidence about you; the job description provides the employer's priorities. A requirement in the job description is not proof that you have that experience.
Use specific, truthful source material. A project, your individual contribution and a measurable result give the copilot more useful evidence than a broad claim such as “strong leadership skills.” You can also save relevant examples with the interview.
Capture the question with permission
Before starting, confirm that everyone agrees to transcription and the interviewing organization permits real-time AI assistance. Elocira captures microphone and computer audio through a supported desktop or browser flow and shows both speakers in a live transcript.
Check that both voices appear before relying on it. Browser capture depends on permissions and the selected audio-sharing source. An incomplete transcript or a misheard phrase can change what the copilot understands; source selection matters as much as the documents you prepare.
Request a suggestion when it is useful
Generate guidance manually when you want it, or enable automatic suggestions to generate when the interviewer pauses. The current question, recent conversation and available candidate context help Elocira connect the response to what is actually being asked.
The output includes a concise answer, a question summary, key points and supporting explanation. Text appears as it is generated. You can scan the useful facts, regenerate a suggestion that misses the mark, or ignore it entirely. Optional screenshot context can add a visible task, diagram or code prompt to the available information.
Adapt the direction and answer naturally
Read the suggestion as guidance, not as a script you must repeat. Choose the parts that accurately reflect your work, add details only you know, and speak in your own words. Keep listening: a follow-up may change which example or level of detail is appropriate.
If the suggestion feels wrong, you do not need to wait for a replacement. Ask the interviewer to clarify the question, use your own example, or answer without the copilot. The final answer and the decision to use assistance remain yours.
Finish and identify a next-round priority
Finish the interview only when the conversation is over; finishing is not a temporary pause. Elocira can generate a review covering communication, relevance, structure and depth, with strengths, improvements and question-level feedback.
Use the review to choose something concrete to practice, such as explaining a tradeoff more clearly. You can revisit the conversation and saved suggestions afterward. These are coaching estimates based on the captured conversation—not hiring predictions or access to the employer's assessment.
A fictional example, not a recorded result
Connect a broad question to your own evidence
Maya Chen is a product manager interviewing for a senior role. Her CV describes an onboarding experiment that reduced abandonment by 18%. The interviewer asks, “Tell me about a product decision you changed after new evidence.”
That question, Maya's documented example and the role context can give Elocira a basis for a relevant suggestion. Maya still decides which details are accurate: what evidence changed her view, what she personally decided and what the team measured afterward. The copilot cannot supply an unrecorded detail as a verified fact.

Different moments, different tools
Preparation, live assistance and review
| Tool category | When it helps | Main purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Preparation-only tool | Before | Practice questions and organize examples before the real conversation. |
| Live interview copilot | During | Connect the current question to candidate context and offer timely guidance. |
| Post-interview coach | After | Review captured answers and identify priorities for further practice. |
Elocira connects these stages, but they are not interchangeable. Preparation builds familiarity; live guidance supports the current moment; review helps you decide what to improve next.
Practical limits
Use guidance, not autopilot
Suggestions can be incomplete, inaccurate or poorly matched to a question. Verify facts, avoid invented experience and keep your attention on the interviewer. No interview tool guarantees success, invisibility or permission from every employer.
Check the organization's rules before the interview, not after capture begins. Read Elocira's Terms and Privacy Policy when deciding whether the workflow fits your situation. Desktop supports Windows and Linux; macOS support is not currently guaranteed.
Common questions
Before your first live interview
Can I use Elocira without uploading a CV?
Yes. CV and job-description context are optional. Guidance can still use the current question and recent transcript, but it may have less evidence for connecting an answer to your own background.
Does Elocira answer for me?
It suggests an answer and supporting points. You judge their accuracy, adapt them and deliver the response. You remain responsible for what you say.
Do I have to use the desktop app?
No. Browser capture is available with a compatible browser and audio-sharing setup. Elocira Desktop is the Windows/Linux option. Verify your chosen capture sources and both speakers' transcript before the interview.
Does the review predict whether I will be hired?
No. It is coaching feedback from the captured conversation. It does not know the employer's internal criteria, other candidates or hiring decision.
